Second Opinions
Second opinions can be incredibly valuable in making sure your dizziness, imbalance, tinnitus and/or hearing loss are treated as quickly and as effectively as possible. These symptoms are incredibly debilitating and have wider effects on quality of life. An accurate and complete diagnosis is key to effective and timely management.
Seeking a second opinion does not mean that you are doubting the knowledge and skills of your current doctor. You are simply using all available resources to ensure that you are receiving the most comprehensive and effective care as you possibly can.
Medical Specialist in Dizziness, Vertigo, Imbalance, Tinnitus & Hearing Loss
Given my highly specialised daily practice, I have gained vast clinical expertise in inner ear and related disorders. I typically treat 1000 new patients each year with an initial consultation, and conduct a further 1000 follow-up consultations for patients all with these specific symptoms, through my NHS and private clinics. I am extremely proud to be recognised by senior consultant colleagues nationally for my expert knowledge, and frequently receive referrals for second opinions. It is not uncommon for me to identify alternative or additional factors, which require alternative or additional treatments, thereby adding true value to the patients I am privileged to give a second opinion to.
What to expect from a Second Opinion Consultation with myself?
Although it is preferable to have a face to face appointment so that I can perform a detailed specialist clinical examination, I do offer video consultations for those out of London who are unable to travel. I will have reviewed all the clinic letters and investigations in advance so that you get the most out of the consultation.
All initial consultations with myself will be at least 45-60 minutes, meaning you have sufficient time to ask any questions. I passionately believe that understanding your symptoms and condition is the first step to good and effective management, and I put a lot of emphasis on easy to understand health information. I am humbled by the exceptional feedback I receive from my patients who appreciate and benefit greatly from my approach.
If any further investigations are required then I will explain the reasoning behind this and how the results will change your treatment plan.
My aim is that after our appointment you fully understand your symptoms and condition, and the diagnosis is as comprehensive as possible. We would have explored all the available treatment options and you will feel confident in your health decisions.
